There has been a pharmacy on this site in the Hillmorton shops for over 50 years, but Pharmacist Simon Murphy and his wife Georgina have owned Hillmorton Pharmacy since 2009.
Our goal is to provide a professional pharmacy services in a warm and friendly environment.
Our Team
Simon Murphy - Pharmacist/Owner
Completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy at Otago University, qualified as a pharmacist in 1990 and he has worked in a variety of pharmacies around Christchurch. In 2006 he moved to Ireland with his family and had 18 months in South West Cork before returning to Christchurch. Simon and George have 2 daughters and a son who have all left home. That has meant a change of routine, and allows Simon to follow his passion and play more golf! In 2024 Simon and George celebrated owning Hillmorton Pharmacy for 15 years.
Georgina Murphy - Retail Manager
For a number of years George worked part-time in the pharmacy, but that has changed now that all three children have left home. Besides the day to day work in the shop, George is in charge of payroll, accounts, buying for the shop and merchandising. George is an 'active relaxer' and enjoys tennis in the summer and hockey year round.
Jamie - Pharmacist
Jamie joined our team in June 2021 after qualifying and working in several pharmacies around Christchurch.She very much enjoys being part of the community and making connections with our locals. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, the gym and hiking in the Port Hills with her golden retriever called Arthur.
Zeb - Pharmacist
Zeb joined the team after qualifying in the middle of 2024, and enjoys tackling any questions that come his way. He is a keen drummer with his friends and church whānau, and can be found exploring the outdoors on foot, bike or skiing in the winter.
Sara - Dispensary Technician
Qualified Dispensary Technician who has not only been with us since 2009 but has been at Hillmorton Pharmacy for over 30 years.
Sara brings a wealth of local knowledge to our team and enjoys a rapport with the local customers that she has seen grow from children into adults.

Hillmorton Pharmacy is open Monday to Friday.
